Kim Stephens Blog

There4U are constantly striving to source new and innovative ways to assist our clients and their families in ensuring their loved ones are cared for in the comfort of their own homes whilst giving them both independence and choice.

Today, we are delighted to welcome Kim Stephens to the There4U Team as our Pastoral Care Facilitator. Kim has worked in caring roles for the NHS and charities before she was ordained and went on to spend 16 years working as a hospital chaplain. Kim will work alongside the management team splitting her time between our offices in Amesbury and Salisbury providing a layer of support to our staff, enabling them the opportunity for a confidential 121 when needed. It’s during this time that our staff are given the opportunity to raise any concerns which they may have about our clients. Should they believe either a client, or their family is perhaps depressed or struggling then Kim will work alongside them to enable them to provide care in a holistic way for clients of all faiths and none.

Managing Director Jo Broom says “There4U are delighted to have Kim on board, our team frequently deal with end of life care and so, we wanted to ensure that we were able to provide a layer of support for not only our staff. but to our clients and their families. Kim will help in dealing with both the physical and psychological side of end of life care, acknowledging any fears worries or concerns, whilst facilitating a space for questions to be asked and explored. No other care company locally offers this service, so we are delighted to the first”

There4U recognises that this is ground breaking in terms of domiciliary care. We want to emphasise that we aim to provide a holistic, individual approach to care where the pastoral and spiritual needs of our clients are met whether they are religious or not. This service will be inclusive within our care packages.

Kim says “It’s clear Jo and the team at There4U are committed to offering a high-quality service. It will be a privilege to work alongside the staff to continue to enhance the service they already provide. I will work with the team to develop further training and support to strengthen the pastoral and spiritual care provided to clients and their families.”
